However, the concept of artificial intelligence has been evolving since the 1900s.
Progress and Advancements in AI through the years:
1900s – The first concept of a machine that could think and reason like a human was introduced by British mathematician Alan Turing in 1936. He developed the idea of the Turing machine, which is widely considered as the theoretical foundation for modern computing.
1950s – The first computer program designed to play chess was developed by Claude Shannon, an American mathematician. This marked a major milestone in the development of artificial intelligence.
1960s – The introduction of the first machine learning algorithm, the perceptron, by Frank Rosenblatt, an American psychologist, marked a significant step forward in AI research.
1970s – The development of expert systems, such as MYCIN, which could diagnose diseases and recommend treatments, was a major breakthrough in AI.
